Harvest Festival is this Weekend!

October 4 & 5 marks the beginning of the fall season with Blandford's Harvest Festival! This year's festival will be filled with fall fun activities for people of all ages. Festivities will be on Saturday, October 4 from 10am-5pm and on Sunday, October 5 from 1pm-5pm.

Admission for adults (18+) is $5, kids (4-17) $3, and kids ages 3 and under are free. With admission, you and your family can paint pumpkins, make scarecrows, watch and taste our cider press, watch folk dance, listen to live music, and watch local artisans make rope, soap and woodcarvings. Horse drawn wagon rides and pictures with a live wild bird of prey are available for $1 each. Food, drinks and locally made crafts are available for purchase as well.

World Record to be Set at Blandford Nature Center

     

Grand Rapids, MI – August 11, 2008 – Birdola® Products proudly announced their 20th anniversary in business in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Birdola’s celebration included the creation of the World’s Largest Wildlife Feed Cake.  Birdola worked with the Guinness Book of World Records to make certain the attempt was in accordance with Guinness Book guidelines. Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell attended to accept feed cake on behalf of Grand Rapids.

Birdola® Products unveiled the World’s Largest Wildlife Feed Cake at Blandford Nature Center 1715 Hillburn Ave. NW, Grand Rapids, MI on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 11:00 am.  Birdola Products donated the feed cake to Blandford Nature Center after the event.

 

U-Pick or We Pick For You: Buy Your Fresh Produce at the Blandford Farm!

Crisp kale and collards, radishes the size of your fist, and gorgeously twisting garlic scapes are just part of what you can find growing at Blandford Nature Center’s latest endeavor, the Blandford Farm, located at 3143 Milo NW. Now you can take the fresh produce home with you, thanks to the launching of the Blandford Youth Farm Team’s “U-Pick/We-Pick” Farm Stand.

Blandford Nature Center has two licensed Wildlife Educators on staff available to answer your wildlife questions.  We are licensed to receive injured, adult birds of prey such as hawks and owls and reptiles such as turtles. All other animal injuries will be referred to one of the above licensed rehabilitators. We do not offer animal rescue or removal services.
